Hey all. Lately, people are sending me Emails that I'm not getting. I get them if said sender is in my contacts, but not if they are not. I use Gmail, and when I checked the site, they're there, so does anyone know why I can view them on the site, but that only certain messages are coming through on outlook express?

Outlook express is being fazed out, so simply switch to windows live mail if you want a mail client that works simular. Mostly you'll find it works the same, so the switch should be easy. www.windowslive.com After all the programs that come with it download you can get rid of them if you don't wish by going to control panel. Add remove programs, find windows live and chedck the boxes after you say remove of any you don't want. You'll not see the check boxes, but if you press the space bar on them they will be checked. After that find windows live mail by going to start, the type P for programs then type W tell you hear windows live right arrow and you'll find it so you can set up your Gmail account. Allow it to do it automaticly. If you agree to make it your default then when you click on email instead of Outlook express opening the other will. Use it the same and you'll find a few add ons like the calendar and such nice things. It will update your MSN messenger as well, so if that is a problem make sure you uncheck that when downloading. You can not install any program by unchecking it and their again you'll not see the check box, or hear them, but if you press the space bar on them they will uncheck. Use sighted help if better for you.
Peace.

But windows live sucks because it doesn't connect to the server as it once did so I use the site, in my case hotmail.

Also eudora works nicely as well for messages. I've been having outlook distress problems similar to that, and I found that using eudora helped that quickly.

Is Udoria better then Mozilla ThunderBird?

Eudora has excelent jaws support, and there's an abundance of hotkeys for it, so you'll have no troubles setting it up.

How about helping this girl out and getting back to the topic? grins.
Have you tried to see if the mail is going to the junk or spam folder instead of your inbox?

hmm, i take it you're using XP? i'm using vista and windows male, which is no different then outlook express doesn't seem to have problems.

windows mail when you are in the mail list still says outlook express at times it's odd.

Hi,

I use Thunderbird with XP Pro and Jaws 10. The only issue I've seent hat I can't always seem to work around is how to get and change the e-mail address in the cc and bcc fields without also changing the to field. If Eudora has multiple inboxes like Thunderbird does, one per account, then I might consider switching.

The Emails are in my inbox when I check on the site, but they don't seem to be showing up in my inbox in outlook express, but then others do. That's what I don't understand.

yeh. I second the opinion of post 7 here, now. just look at the junk mail foulder? even though some of the addresses are added with my address book, I've also noticed few of the emails are going to the junk foulders. but I'm still working out how to figure it, though.

Raaj.

To the otiginal poster,

Switch from using pop3 to IMap and move the messages that way from spam to your inbox. I'd have to check for GMail's IMap ports since I believe they're different in OE as opposed to Thunderbird.

Other reason I don't like IE is because it is almost impossible to back up messages easily. To be able to move from OE to another system running lets say Win 7 or Mac/Linux, if you ever wanted to.

Eudora and Thunderbird are good client as well. I am sorry your problem needs to be fixed by simply changing your email client. Holding on the outlook express when microsoft is doing all in it's power to make it not work is silly to me. Smile.
Windows live connects to the server directly. Hotmail, Gmail, and even paid Yahoo mail accounts and others like ones college mail system. If the posters is not connecting upgrade. If you have the latest then delete your account and redo it allowing the program so set it up for you.

if they're making OE not work, then what about windows mail on vista, this is just windows mail, not windows live mail... will the same be done, i haven't noticed any problems to this point...

Windows mail will work for a long time. It is part of Vista like outlook express is part of XP, but Microsoft fazed out outlook express when Vista was released and also added windows live mail to fix the problem of win 7 not having a mail client at all. They are trying to get XP out by 2014, but it's seems to be a battle. Smile. It works, people like it, and until people except win7 or Vista with PS2 well...
